CHREAA and SALC are conducting qualitative research to explore legal empowerment strategies addressing police abuse against marginalized groups in Malawi, including street-connected children, the LGBTIQ community, informal traders, and sex workers. The project aims to translate grassroots initiatives into broader legal and policy reforms, examining the expansion of legal empowerment, organizing, and collective action to combat impunity for police abuse

This project explores how incarcerated women used participatory theatre to highlight health-related injustices and spark collaborative problem-solving. The initiative offers an innovative model for advancing sexual health rights and fostering dialogue between prisoners, officials, and policymakers in Malawi.
